Tashkent Hydrometeorological College
Tashkent hydrometeorological college is a single educational establishment for training of medium range specialists in Central Asia for the national hydrometeorological service of Uzbekistan. During 50 years of its existence more than eight thousand and five hundred meteorologists, hydrologists, agrometeorologists and radio technicians in the field of aerologists who work at hydrological stations and gauging stations of Uzhydromet have been trained there. More than two hundred specialists-hydrometeorologists were trained for the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Available material basis and accumulated long experience gave the college the possibility to act at international level. In July 1994 Executive Council of WMO at 46th session has established Tashkent hydrometeorological college as WMO Regional training meteorological Centre on training of specialists for training medium-class hydrometeorological personnel for the states of and Middle East. Since 2001 training of hydrometeorological personnel is conducted in the following fields:
- Technical maintenance of the ground facilities of the radio technical provision of flights
- Communication and telecommunication in hydrometeorology
- State cadastre
